Herro was born on January 20, 2000. He is from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Tyler has two brothers.
Early on, his father pushed him to work on his basketball game and to become a top rate player. His hard work paid off and helped him become a highly recruited high school star. Herro played high school basketball for Whitnall High School.

The guard/forward would play college basketball for the Kentucky Wildcats. Many schools were interested in him, but it is hard to turn down the iconic Kentucky Wildcats.

He started all 37 games he played for Kentucky. Herro led the team in several offensive stats. After one season, it was clear he was ready for the next level.

Tyler Herro was selected in the first round (13th overall pick) of the 2019 NBA Draft by the Miami Heat. His impact on the team was instant. As a rookie, he helped Miami reach the NBA Finals.
