The History of the Air Jordan 2012

The Air Jordan 2012 offered its wearer a large assortment of options. More options than have ever been offered on an Air Jordan shoe previously. Learn about the history of the Air Jordan 2012 by reading on.

A Shoe For Your Game

Tinker Hatfield designed the 2012 version of the Air Jordan series. The superstar designer once again wanted to bring something new and exciting to Jordan Brand. The Air Jordan 2012 originally released on February 8, 2012.

The 2012 came with a full set of inner sleeves and midsoles. It features six different combinations of cushioning and support. The 2012 has 3 removeable booties. It has Flywire technology and a leather outer shell that allowed the 2012 to have a lot of lightweight durability. The two inner sleeve choices offer players the option of low flexibility or high support.

There are three midsole options. They are called “Quick,” “Air,” or “Explosive.” The three options allowed the player to build a sneaker that perfectly complimented their game. Jordan Brand presented a “Lite” version of the 2012. The Lite model only offered the shoe’s essentials. It came with no customizable midsoles or booties.

2012

Several colorways would ultimately release of the 2012. Some of the mort memorable styles include Wolf Grey/Volt, University Blue, White/Black and “Year of the Dragon.” The Air Jordan 2012 was the last of 4 consecutive models to have its name be the year of its release. The 2012 was an ambitious launch from Jordan. The different versions of sleeves and midsoles was unlike anything seen from Jordan Brand before, and since. Like many of the later models from Jordan Brand, it is somewhat a forgotten style today. But 2012 was a worthy addition to the Air Jordan legacy.
