The History of the Under Armour Curry 8

The Under Armour Curry 8 will be released in 2020. The Curry Flow 8 would launch the Curry Brand line for Steph and UA. Learn more about the 8 below.

8

The Under Armour and Curry relationship was now eight shoes deep. UA understood the kind of footwear Curry needed. What he needed to maintain his place as one of the best players in the game, and an all time legend. But research and testing were a major part of the Curry 8 and its construction. Traction was of great focus to the team. Traction is an important need for Curry’s game, his quickness and constant movement. An all foam outsole gave the 8 tremendous grip and traction. UA Flow eliminated the rubber outsole and brought in superior traction to the 8.

Curry Brand

Since joining UA in 2013, Chef Curry has launched a number of signature shoes. He also has his own brand, Curry Brand. Curry Brand operates as its own entity under the umbrella of UA. Under Armour would experience remarkable growth as a company with Steph as its signature athlete and with the help of Curry Brand. Chef Curry helped UA establish themselves as players in the basketball world. UA consistently makes quality sneakers for the NBA star. Shoes that feature the latest technology and designs.

Growing As Icons

Before signing with Under Armour, Steph showed great promise as a player for the Golden State Warriors. The guard struggled with injuries early in his career. It was believed by many that Stephen would never reach the height of his potential. Soon after signing with UA, Curry began to blossom into the player everyone thought he could be. Injuries became less frequent, and far less of a concern. In his signature UA sneakers, Curry would win back to back MVP trophies in 2015 and 2016. His Golden State Warriors would also achieve success under his leadership, winning four championships, in 2015, 2017, 2018 and 2022.
