We had the honor of attending The Doernbecher Freestyle XIX collection unveiling and auction, one of the most life-changing experiences we have ever been a part of. The children, families, and doctors who make everything possible are nothing short of amazing. To highlight this incredible night, we sat with some of the many doctors who help these kids throughout their journey.

When he was 13, Christopher was hit by a car. Any one of his resulting injuries could have killed him. Now 14, he takes life as it comes and rolls with it.

He has Klippel-Trenaunay syndrome and is one of our six incredible Doernbecher Freestyle XIX patient-designers!
“Because of the experience that I’ve had – my heart condition – I think I just really want to be a nurse to help kids reach to the top of their journey. Just like me.”
Eight-year-old Doernbecher Freestyle XIX patient-designer Hailey was born with some health complications, including a congenital heart defect. 💕
Garrett and his identical twin brother, Kooper, were born prematurely at 25 weeks. Now 12, Garrett included a purple butterfly on his Doernbecher Freestyle designs to honor his brother’s memory. 🦋
