The Nike Air Griffey Max 2 made its debut in 1997. It was released after the successful launch of the Griffey 1. The sneakers were different than the 1 in terms of shape and style. It had carbon fiber on the upper and air units on the lower part of the silhouette. The 2 was designed by Tracy Teague. It has Jr’s signature Swingman Logo on the heel.

The Cool Kid

There was something about The Kid that was just cool. His swagger, his swing, the way he wore his cap backwards, it was all cool. Baseball, America’s past time, was having a tough time in the 90s appealing to the youth of America.
