The Air Jordan 11 Legend Blue

The Air Jordan 11 is one of the most iconic Air Jordan models. Every time it is brought back as a retro, it causes a commotion. The 11 is returning December 14 with the Legend Blue colorway.

Legend Blue

The Legend Blue has not been available for 10 years. The shoe debuted in the 1996 All-Star Game when MJ wore the shoe on the court.

The mostly all white silhouette stands out largely due to its patent leather component. A carbon fiber plate and Zoom Air cushioning offers the superior support of the 11. The icy blue translucent outsole adds to the shoe’s clean and sophisticated design.

The Legacy Of The Jordan 11

The Air Jordan 11 has strong cultural significance in the sneaker community. It is on the Mount Rushmore of shoes for many fans because it is such a bold and distinctive sneaker.

Tinker Hatfield took inspiration from high fashion, rather than sportswear, for the 11. That design strategy worked perfectly and allowed the 11 to live beyond the basketball court. The formal wear inspiration allowed it to match up perfectly with suits, or even tuxedos.

The 11 was a hit on the court and off. The profile of the 11 was also boosted by the fact that MJ wore the Concord colorway during the Chicago Bulls historic 72-10 season. Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls also won the NBA Championship in 1996.

The Birth Of Jordan Brand

In 1997, Jordan Brand and Nike decided to let the Air Jordan line operate 100% independently. It was a bold decision that showed the strong belief Nike had in the brand.

The decision was likely influenced by the belief that the 1997-98 basketball season would be Michael Jordan’s last. Nike needed to make a big statement to show consumers that the Jumpman logo was not going anywhere. It was here to stay.

Shoe Palace

The Air Jordan 11 Legend Blue will be available at Shoe Palace stores and on the website on December 14.
