The Nike Book 1 “Rattlesnake”

The Nike Book 1 might be the hottest shoe in the sneaker world right now. Its latest colorway, “Rattlesnake,” launches at Shoe Palace this May 11.

The Nike Book 1 “Rattlesnake” is inspired by Booker’s encounter with a rattlesnake during a hike. The colorway features of White, Light Orewood Brown, Burnt Sunrise, and Black. The silhouette is made from leather, mesh, and canvas. There are faux snakeskin Swoosh logos that go with a clean white canvas for the rest of the shoe. Burnt Sunrise accents add pops of color on the “Rattlesnake.”

Book 1

The Nike Book 1, besides having a really cool name, is one of the more exciting basketball shoes released from Nike in a while. The shoe features a stacked Cushlon 2.0 foam midsole with a rigid TPU sidewall for added support, with a top-loaded Nike Zoom air bag in the heel. The outside has a workwear inspired canvas and twill upper adds durability. There is a suede collar and genuine leather across the forefront. The shoe has a deliberate broken in feel. The heel was inspired by a book spine, with numbers referencing chapters in an ongoing story.

Inspired By Icons

The Nike Book 1 took inspiration from a variety of iconic sources. It is inspired by the Air Force 1, the Blazer, and Air Jordan 1. Automobiles also helped shape the creation of the shoe. The 72 Chevy Blazer K5 also played a role in the crafting of the Book 1. Storytelling and legacy played a major part in the making of the Book 1.
